Plan for Tomorrow

It's already 2 am and my cousin has already gone to bed. Our house has 5 rooms - for my parents, for me, one for my cousin, one for guests, and the room of our helper. He is my only cousin so yes, he has his own room in our house. I need also to sleep now. I need to get up early to attend church. I hope I will catch the 10 am worship. If not, I will attend the afternoon service. I hope I can post tomorrow but my cousin is inviting me to go for a road trip to Tagaytay with our common friends. It is supposed to be our family day but Dad is still on his business trip and Mom will attend a women's group meeting in our subdivision so I will spend my Sunday with my cousin and friends.

Midnight Snack and Korean Movie

My cousin went out. I thought he would just look around or hangout at the garden but I heard the sound of his car. I just thought he will go to his friend who lives nearby. He was away for 10 minutes and when he came back, he got burgers, french fries, coke float from McDonald's and a Yellow Cab pizza. We ate the food while we watched a Korean romantic movie which he requested. It's too corny and it's not the kind of movie I want but most Korean movies have comedy parts so it was just alright with me and it's the only bonding time with my cousin after 2 months and maybe we'll not see each other again after a month or more. He's always busy and serious so time like this is very precious.

My Cousin Visits Me

My cousin came to visit me this evening. He will be sleeping here tonight. Like us, he is also enjoying his stay in the Philippines. He lives in Quezon City with his Filipina girlfriend but she didn't came because she will be going somewhere with her friends early tomorrow. My cousin's English name is Desmond. His real name is +Woojin but I love to call him oppa, a Korean term used by females to call older males such as brothers or cousins. It is similar to "Kuya" which we used to call elder males here in the Philippines. Oppa is 25 years old. He is a businessman managing a jewellery store at SM North. He has been staying here for 4 months already but he is planning to marry his girlfriend and stay here forever but her girlfriend wants to live in Korea so it's complicated.

Earning Money for New Phone, Camera and Laptop

If you have already read my previous blog, I mentioned about my DSLR and other gadgets which I lost in Bohol during the earthquake. I lost my wallet with my money, bank card and credit card and my paypal balance is zero so I am doing my best to earn and buy a new phone - an affordable one with camera and wi-fi so I have something to use to contact and take photos for my blogs. I also want a new laptop and dslr but because I have lost my money, I can't buy them all. The only left is my savings on my bank which is not enough to buy all the three gadgets. I don't want to ask money from my parents because I want to be independent and that's also what they want me to be.

Saturdays of Erin

Every Saturday, I usually stay at home and sleep all day. Just kidding. Of course, I also eat and take a bath but this is the day where my parents can’t disturb me and the day I am allowed to sleep all day. I love to sleep so I'm always excited for Saturdays. Sometimes, my friends come to our house and have a mini-picnic at the back of our house where there is a swimming pool. Sometimes we also go to the nearest mall which can be reached just by walking for 7 - 10 minutes. My friends and I have each own skater board and bike so we also love to roam around the subdivision and enjoy the environment.

Motorcade of Candidate

This morning, I woke up by the loud noise of motorcycles and cars added by the loud voice from the man behind the megaphone. They were having a Motorcade campaigning their candidacy on the coming Barangay Election on October 28, Monday. Not only candidates are doing the motorcade, even their families and supporters so the surrounding is filled with laughter and loud voices. I got irritated because I need to take a rest due to sleeping late last night because we entertained new visitors from Taiwan. Instead of continuing the motorcade, they stopped and and there they were taking pictures with some Koreans. Speaking of election, I will not vote yet because I haven't registered in the Comelec. I was having a vacation that time they had a registration.

Mom, I am Hungry

My mother was not yet at home. I was already +Hungry but I don't want to eat alone. I want her to join me take our dinner. She was still at our apartment. I cannot contact her because I haven't bought a new cellphone yet. I fetched her because i I could not wait any longer. Our apartment is just near our house (five houses away). I found out that a new family from Korea has just arrived so she is preparing their bedroom with our caretaker. I waited for her while she was explaining the rules and other stuff to the family. I could not understand some of the words because they were speaking in Korean.

Energizing Coffee

I felt so sleepy while I was cleaning the mezzanine so I prepared coffee and drank. It makes me became alert and energetic. In our house, aside from the helper, I'm the only one who drinks coffee. My parents drink tea especially green tea. They also love tomato juice. As I said, I am more of a Filipino than a Korean so what most Filipino eat and drink, I also do. Anyway, it is getting dark so I need to finish my task before my mom gets home. After this, I will cook our dinner and get back to the internet later.

Magazines at the Mezzanine

I am still cleaning the mezzanine but I am taking a rest because I am already tired. The books and magazines are too heavy. I just hope my boyfriend is here to help me out but he's on travel at Turkey. Our helper is on leave so I am left with this mess. My mother is negotiating with our new Korean borders while my father is on a business trip. If I won't finish this task, my mother will scold me. She's strict when it comes to cleaning the house. She's meticulous. She trained me to help do home chores so even if we have a helper, I still do household tasks.

Bubblews is Dating Site?

I told my friend that I joined Bubblews today and she asked me if Bubblews is a dating site. I said no! She's so funny. She was asking me to find good dating site for her. I convinced her to join me here on Bubblews but she refused. She prefers joining in dating sites which she hasn't found one yet lol. She is lazier than me so writing is not her forte. She is socialite in real life so she would rather go on wild parties and luxury vacations than to join sites like Bubblews. Her life is like 90% parties and 10% internet which is the opposite of my life.

Photos and Earthquake

I don't post photos because I don't have photos left on my computer. My pictures are all stored in my laptop, cellphone and digicam but I lost the bag where I kept them during the earthquake at Bohol. Yes, we were there but thankful that there is nothing bad happened to my family. We just lost our bags but we are ok. We were at the house of my father's friend when it happened but that house was not damaged. We were not affected at that place, we were just dizzy because we felt the quake. The house where we stayed, slept and left our bags had collapsed so we couldn't retrieve our belongings anymore. Good thing that we still have money to get back to Manila.

The Mezzanine with my Beads and Jewels

It is time for me to clean the mezzanine. My mother told me to clean it because it is already full of things I do not use anymore and things that I can use but don't have the time to utilize. I am a lover of tiny, cute things so I buy a lot of trinkets and anything that catches my attention. I buy beads and jewels hoping I could also do some crafts like scrapbooking someday but mind you, I procrastinate a lot. Now, the mezzanine is full of boxes filled with recycled items and knick-knacks collecting dust. And I don’t know where to begin cleaning.

Notification and Connections

I am so happy that for a few minutes I am here on Bubblews, I already have 23 notifications. I never thought this how it works. It is like Facebook with notification and adding friends which is called as connections here. I still have many stuff to learn here so it takes time to connect back to you all. I am enjoying my stay here. Never thought I will be active because I am so lazy but look at me, I already posted three. But since it is already lunch time, I will be back later. I hope you enjoy your day as much as I do.

English Tutor

I am an English tutor for Korean students. Please don't ask me where to apply because I don't work for a school or company. I am just a freelancer and most of my students are my parents' friends' children. Most of my students' age range from 5 years old up to 12 years old. I also handle adult Koreans who would love to learn the English language. Sometimes it is stressful working, I mean teaching them but it is also enjoyable. It tests your patience and can also improve your English grammar and vocabulary. I still have a lot to learn so teaching provides me insight and knowledge not only about education but also on the tradition/culture, emotion and psychological aspect.

Who Are You?

I think you will ask me that question. Well, I am Erin, a Korean teenager living in the Philippines. I was born here and living here for 20 years now.

My parents are pure Korean but decided to live here so for that 20 years of living, I am not fluent in writing and speaking Hangul. I am more fluent in Tagalog and English.

My hobbies are watching movies or TV shows and reading love stories on the internet. Most of my weekends, you can see me sleeping all day. I love to sleep so my parents always call me "sleeping beauty". :)

First Day on Bubblews

I don't remember where I first saw this site. I just saw it on my bookmarks inside the folder "Write to Earn" which is the only site on it. I check it out and think I could share my thoughts and experiences here.

I am hoping that I can meet new friends here. It is my first time to join a writing community so please bear with my ignorance.

I know I can make mistakes along the way but I am willing to listen to your suggestions and advices. I am not yet ready but I am willing to learn from you guys.

Thank you all for reading. Don’t hesitate to add me and send comments on my profile. I would love to read stuff.

I Bought Some Lambanog for Some Special People

Last week, I bought three six-liter of lambanog which costs P300 each and I soaked some raisins in the container with the lambanog. A box of raisins is worth P50 each so I spent P1050 ($25) for the lambanog and raisins. I will give this wine to my father, siblings, brother-in-law and father-in-law (to be).

Lambanog is a Flipino-alcoholic-beverage . It is commonly called coconut-wine or coconut-arrack . According to the seller whom I bought the wine, it is produced in Quezon Province which is just the province next to ours. Since this wine is more expensive in Manila, I already bought here for cheaper price and more genuine product. This is a perfect gift on yuletide-season .

Still Cannot Get Over Haiyan

The other day, after piling up the banana-trees (which I cut down) in the garbage pit and swept the yard, I slept for the rest of the afternoon then helped my uncle to roast chicken which served as our finger food when we drunk some lambanog - a distilled-coconut-wine . I was a bit tired cleaning up Yolanda 's mess in our backyard but really thankful that we are not affected much. I have seen a lot of places destructed by the devastating typhoon and there is nothing I can do but hope and pray for their quick.

The Aftermath of Super Typhoon Yolanda in Our Yard

On Friday night, the wind was so strong but the rain was not heavy but upon reaching dawn, the rain became heavy and wind became stronger. We are grateful that nothing happened to my family and we still could sleep normally.

The next morning, I feel a little disappointed because the banana trees around the house have fallen and stooped down. I had to gather them all and piled them in the corner. I also swept the yard and shovelled the mud. I did all those things alone because our maid had her day-off (she takes a rest every Saturday).

Helping Do the Laundry

Every time our maid washes the clothes, I help her by pumping the water-well-pump and bringing the clothes to the rooftop because it is where we hang the clothes. The stairs are too steep, long and high so people get easily get tired going upstairs even if you’re not lifting or bringing something with you hence bringing the wet clothes upstairs is the worst and most difficult thing I always have to face when going to the rooftop. I also help her squeeze the clothes and hang them on the clothesline. We hang them on the rooftop because either rain or shine, clothes are safe and can dry easily.

Water Pump Adventure

In our backyard, we have a water pump. This is where we get water for washing the clothes and other uses inside and outside the house and watering the plants. I am the one who is assigned to pump every day. Though we use hose, the task is still difficult because the water pump is far from the house which I have to fix before I pump, making sure the water is not wasted. After filling up one drum (through calculation of time), I have to go back to the house and transfer the hose to other containers and pump and fill again. The cycle goes on until I fill them up.

Three Dogs in Our House

Here in our house, we have three dogs: two pitbull and one askal (Philippine local name for street dog or stray dog, in other countries, askals are known as mongrels).

The older pitbull is always wondering and eat rambutan by itself; it opens the fruit without any help from humans. I think it’s amazing. The other pitbull is confined in a cage at the back of the house. The askal is also caged. The two pitbulls have brown colors while the mongrel has white. Though I am more of a cat-lover, I also learned how to love and take care of dogs.

What I Usually Do on Rainy Days

Rainy days are the best days for me because I love sleeping. Rainy season is cold so I usually get easily feel drowsy. It is so nice to snuggle when it is raining.
When it rains, I just stay at home. Most of the time, I cook chicken soup, stay at the balcony and watch the rain or just sleep all day. I get sick easily so staying inside is the best option for me. Medicines are too expensive nowadays that getting sick have to be avoided.

There are also times my siblings invite me to watch movies or play games like scrabble or chess until we get tired and feel sleepy.
